Please don’t fuck these up.

Please don’t fuck these up.

Gamespot has news on the video game adaptations of the upcoming Captain America and Thor movies being released by Marvel.  While the memories of the Captain America and the Avengers arcade game dance through my head, I can’t help but remain skeptical.  What with the recent steaming pile of shit Iron Man game based on Jon Favreau’s excellent movie.  I did enjoy Wolverine Origins Unleashed, but for every one game like that there are ten Superman 64’s.  Proceed trepidatiously:

Thor will debut in May 2011, giving the golden-haired god of thunder his first starring game role. The film will be directed by Kenneth Brannagh (Hamlet, Frankenstein), with Anthony Hopkins (Silence of the Lambs, Nixon) as Odin and Chris Hemsworth (Captain Kirk’s father in this year’s Star Trek) in the title role.

Captain America will follow his fellow Avenger into theaters and onto game shelves in July 2011. A cast for the film–currently titled The First Avenger: Captain America–has not yet been announced. While Thor will be starring in his own game and movie for the first time, the star-spangled supersoldier has been there before, albeit not for decades. The much-reviled 1990 filmCaptain America was released direct-to-video in the United States, while the following year’s arcade game Captain America and the Avengers fared much better, spawning ports for the NES, Genesis, and GameBoy, among others.

There have been so many bad movie based video games it is almost cliche for any gamer to raise the topic.  The games are often a rushed afterthought to try and juice more money out of a popular franchise.  There is still plenty of time to design a couple of fun video games to help build the fervor for two more giant Marvel franchise characters.  Let’s hope they don’t go all Rockateer on us…

The Fukerton’s Exclusive Interview with Best Selling Author Max Brooks

The Fukerton’s Exclusive Interview with Best Selling Author Max Brooks

Max Brooks is a genius.  Not only has he written two classic zombie best sellers, but he re-defined the genre.  I credit him with a great deal of the revitalization of zombies in popular culture.  Every day we see a new zombie novel, video game or movie.  The Fukerton got the opportunity to discuss all of these things with Max.  We also got an update on his new graphic novel and the World War Z movie. It was a thrill.

Click HERE to download the interview and click HERE to get Max’s new book. I’ve read it. It’s pretty fricken sweet.

The Fukerton Rodkast Episode 5 (RROD Radio sighting?) *filthy language*

The Fukerton Rodkast Episode 5 (RROD Radio sighting?) *filthy language*

The cast of characters for today’s Rodkast? Othello B, Ryan from Traffic, Stugy Beau Schembechler, Director of MvP: Shaky Knee and Brad Fukes. On the docket for discussion? Marvel Comics getting bought by Disney, the gushing everyone is doing about the new Batman video game and Beau threatening to cut his air.

We also do some good shitting on Othello and the aforementioned Relationship Beau, as well as discover a new word Ryan can’t say. It’s a whopping 45 minute segment, and there is a plethora of naughty language. NSFW, LMAO, ROTFL, LOL!!! Ugh.

We are also looking for new logos for the Rodkast.  The one to the right was provided our friend Lucas on facebook.  Lyrias was nice enough to send the logo on the main page.  Anyone that comes to the Fukerton on a regular basis knows what we are all about.  Just try to include some of the things we are enjoy (loving the Outkast angle) with thefukerton.com and Rodkast included in the design and you are good to go.  We might be able to scare up a cool prize for any good ones like a Fukerton, Big O and Dukes or 1067 The Fan t shirt.  You’ll defiantly get a shout out here on yer favorite blog named after ass eating.

Thanks for the effort and thanks for checking out the Rodkasts.  We ‘ll keep making them as long as you keep listening!  Click HERE for the Rodcast Episode 5.

Bad Wolvy Movie vs Bad Watchmen movie. Funny.

Bad Wolvy Movie vs Bad Watchmen movie. Funny.

Whenever I get full of myself thinking I am clever or witty or have a 10 inch cock, I just tool around the internet a little bit. Then I find something that is this simple and this hilarious and hate myself for not coming up with it first, and everything is right with the world. This guy is funny, I have a small penis and balls. Enjoy.

Well this looks to be infinitely disapointing.

Well this looks to be infinitely disapointing.

There are a couple of trailers out there for the new Batman game that is due out this year. When it was first discussed, it was rumored to blend elements of Batman and Bioshock, which to me sounds very appealing. Then I saw this video. Bad voice work, bad graphics, bad lighting and what looks to be a bad plot all combine to ruin something that should have been excellent. A Batman survival horror video game. Arkham Asylum may still end up being a fine game, but all the footage I have found looks to be cheesy and lacklustered attempt to capitalize on the success of the Dark Knight. Here’s to crossing your fingers.

The Dark Avengers have arrived.

The Dark Avengers have arrived.

Dark Avengers #1 came out today.  All and all I have to say it was quite good.  It seems like a very original story arch and not as mucked up as Secret Invasion.  I like comics but I am not nearly as informed as most that read and collect so bear that in mind during this commentary.  The Iron Patriot is Norman Osborn.  The Green Goblin.  The leader of the Thunderbolts.  A villain.  He has assembled a group of superhumans comprised mostly of other nefarious sorts posing as heros.  Venom, Bullseye, maybe the void.  He’s disbanded S.H.E.I.L.D in favor of the more aggressive H.A.M.M.E.R.  He involved Wolverine’s evil son just to “piss off his father.”  Its all deliciously evil. I’m a man that roots for the villain.  Darth Vader, The Joker, the shark in Jaws, Agent Smith, Bill the Butcher.  I find villains usually have great motivation than some geek in spandex.

The battles that could result from this groups assembly are scintillating.  How will Osborn deal with his fellow villains?  He has to look good in front of the masses.  How will he deal with the actual heros?  He has the governments backing but I doubt that will stop those his group is impersonating.  Are we talking different combinations of good guys and bad guys teaming up?  To what end?  Is the conflict with Doom pictured above staged for the publics benefit?  Are they going to tie the X-men into this?  It all lines up to be a very good angle for nerds with less Hercules riding on some ghost boat to attack Skrull god’s and more big name heros bumping heads with people stealing their identities.  My nerd erection the size of the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier.

Is THIS the Iron Patriot?

Is THIS the Iron Patriot?

I’m no comic nerd.  I like super heros and I will occasionally pic up a few books from time to time but I don’t like getting bogged down in the minutiae.  The Swordsman?  Black Bolt?   Spitfire?  Lick my balls.  I don’t give a shit about any of those people and I get sick and tied of Marvel trying to get me to buy crappy, lame titles by using bigger characters as tie-ins.  I’m not buying one more fucking Ms. Marvel book, I don’t care how many skrulls are invading our planet.   I won’t buy one more Captain Britian comic no matter how bad Stark and Rogers are beefing.   And I’m gonna tell you something T.  Are you listening?I’m not gonna be one of those assholes!  Now, all of that being said, let me admit that the picture above makes me a hypocrite.  Some nefarious would-be anti-hero running around in red, white and blue Iron Man armor?  I’ll use my cock to sign myself up for that.  Read on true believer:

Who is the Iron Patriot? Who are the Dark Avengers?

Frank Miller Says Sin City 2 is right around the muhfukin’ corner!

Frank Miller Says Sin City 2 is right around the muhfukin’ corner!

Marv is one of the best characters in print or film that I have ever seen.  Mickey Rourke nailed the role and left me begging for more.  The rest of the movie was pretty good, but that first 30 minutes of Sin City is some of the best stuff that this blogger has laid eyes on.  I didn’t read the graphic novel and I don’t know if a sequel would include Marv, Gladis and his mitts, but I sure hope so.   It would lead to a brazilian jujitsu match between myself and my phalus.  Luckily It looks like we won’t have to wait that much longer to find out if my cock can get me in the triangle choke.  Superhero Hype has the skinny:

IGN UK talked to The Spirit writer/director Frank Miller, who says that he’s ready to join up with Robert Rodriguez again for Sin City 2:

“Sin City 2 is written,” he told the site. “It’s mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I’m hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April.”

Sounds good to me.  Now let’s get that 300 prequel announced and we will be getting somewhere.  Then maybe a bonus scene where Marv, Leonidas and Bruce Willis square off in lightsaber duel.  We’ll all have to buy life jackets if that happens or we will down from all the nerd ejaculate that we will be inundated with.   Alllllright.

Is this Thor?

Is this Thor?

I recognize this dreamboat.  He was in Kingdom of Heaven and some other sword swinging flicks.  To be honest, he looks like a damn good Thunder God to me.  I never bought all that horseshit about Brad Pitt or Daniel Craig.   They look too much like movie stars, I think I’d have a hard time buying them as hailing from Asgard. Superhero Hype has the yet to be confirmed rumor on who will wield the mighty Mjolnir

Kevin McKidd, who currently stars on “Grey’s Anatomy,” told IGN that he’s still a contender for the lead role in Marvel Studios’ Thor. The actor, most known for “Journeyman” and “Rome,” says there’s been “a lot of back and forth” but that nothing has been determined. He acknowledged that Kenneth Branagh is directing it, a choice that makes him even more excited about the film.

Marvel Studios is targeting a July 16, 2010 release for Thor.

Donald Blake, Eric Robertson, Jake Olsen.  Whatev.  This one is going to be a tall order.  This is no regular man in a suit.  Marvel is trying to realistically portray a living god and somehow make it vibe with the rest of the Avengers.  I think it’s a tall order, as does Robert Downey Jr.  There isn’t going to be any middle ground with this thing Marvel is attempting.  It is going beyond just a “comic book/super hero movie.”   This sequence leading up to The Avengers film could be the biggest event in the history of cinema.  Or the biggest flop.

This past summer proved to us that these movies are the most popular genre in the world.  If Marvel handles this thing the right way, they could be sitting on a fucking goldmine that makes the Spiderman Trilogy look like Kagaroo Jack.  Sequels to Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk and The Avengers could all spin off this thing.  Not to mention Captain America and/or Ant Man.  If Stan Lee would have kept his stake in the company, he could own South America by the end of it.

Did Robert Downey Jr. just confirm The Hulk’s appearance in The Avengers’ movie?

Did Robert Downey Jr. just confirm The Hulk’s appearance in The Avengers’ movie?

Robert Downey Jr.  speaking to MTV about the upcoming Avengers movie:

“If we don’t get it right it’s really, really going to suck,” said Downey. “It has to be the crowning blow of Marvel’s best and brightest because it’s the hardest thing to get right. It’s tough to spin all the plates for one of these characters.”

“I think its important that I do what I’m supposed to do which is keep my side of the street clean,” said Downey. “The danger you run with colliding all these worlds is [director] Jon [Favreau] was very certain that ‘Iron Man’ should be set in a very realistic world. Nothing that happened in ‘Iron Man’ is really outside the realm of possibility. Once you start talking about Valhalla and supersized super soldiers and jolly green giants it warrants much further discussion.”

I love the fact that RDJ is a nerd.  I love the fact that he seems to really care about the production.  I ALSO love the fact RDJ seemingly outted the Hulk being involved in the film.  That’s really the only thing that could make an Avengers movie even cooler.  If they were taking on Mama Banner’s baby boy.  Being a nerd seems to be getting better and better.  2011 might be the year of the guy that spent time in his locker.  I love it.
