The Fukerton Rodkast Episode 5 (RROD Radio sighting?) *filthy language*

The cast of characters for today’s Rodkast? Othello B, Ryan from Traffic, Stugy Beau Schembechler, Director of MvP: Shaky Knee and Brad Fukes. On the docket for discussion? Marvel Comics getting bought by Disney, the gushing everyone is doing about the new Batman video game and Beau threatening to cut his air.

We also do some good shitting on Othello and the aforementioned Relationship Beau, as well as discover a new word Ryan can’t say. It’s a whopping 45 minute segment, and there is a plethora of naughty language. NSFW, LMAO, ROTFL, LOL!!! Ugh.

We are also looking for new logos for the Rodkast.  The one to the right was provided our friend Lucas on facebook.  Lyrias was nice enough to send the logo on the main page.  Anyone that comes to the Fukerton on a regular basis knows what we are all about.  Just try to include some of the things we are enjoy (loving the Outkast angle) with thefukerton.com and Rodkast included in the design and you are good to go.  We might be able to scare up a cool prize for any good ones like a Fukerton, Big O and Dukes or 1067 The Fan t shirt.  You’ll defiantly get a shout out here on yer favorite blog named after ass eating.

Thanks for the effort and thanks for checking out the Rodkasts.  We ‘ll keep making them as long as you keep listening!  Click HERE for the Rodcast Episode 5.

Well this looks to be infinitely disapointing.

Well this looks to be infinitely disapointing.

There are a couple of trailers out there for the new Batman game that is due out this year. When it was first discussed, it was rumored to blend elements of Batman and Bioshock, which to me sounds very appealing. Then I saw this video. Bad voice work, bad graphics, bad lighting and what looks to be a bad plot all combine to ruin something that should have been excellent. A Batman survival horror video game. Arkham Asylum may still end up being a fine game, but all the footage I have found looks to be cheesy and lacklustered attempt to capitalize on the success of the Dark Knight. Here’s to crossing your fingers.

And the Villians for The Dark Knight Returns are….

Right, I know.  We’ve all been down this road before.  Cher’s old withered ass is going to be Catwoman!  George W. Bush as Clayface!  It’s all been bullshit up until this point.  Well, maybe no any more.  Michael Caine is a very good actor and is VERY good as Alfred in this new Batman franchise.  He was asked about the villians like everyone else has been, and he had done some leg work on the matter.  It looks like the best possible scenario might be reality.  Peep:

So Caine is like the rest of us, reading gossip in the tabloids, right? Except for one thing…according to the actor, he confirmed the news through the studio itself.

“When Christopher [Nolan] said we were going to do ‘The Dark Knight’ next, I didn’t what that meant in Batman terms,” related Caine, who plays Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth. “I said, ‘What’s the story?’ and he said The Joker. I said, ‘Oh, s–t! How are you going to top Jack [Nicholson]?’ He said, ‘Well, I’ve cast Heath Ledger. And I went ‘Ha! I couldn’t top Jack, but if anyone could, maybe Heath could.’ And he did.

“I was with [a Warner Bros.] executive and I said, ‘Are we going to make another one?’ They said yeah. I said, ‘How the hell are we going to top Heath? And he says ‘I’ll tell you how you top Heath — Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.’ I said, ‘S–t, they’ve done it again!’” While rumors of Depp and Hoffman have been hot topics around the upcoming film for quite some time, this is the first instance of one of the film’s stars speaking about the news, as well as Caine citing an albeit unnamed WB executive.

That sounds like a confirmed rumor to me.  The only thing that would be better news is if PSH wore a tight maroon tank top and bricked layups off the back board.  “WHITE CHOCOLATE!!”

Batman Meets Bioshock

Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t?  Well maybe it’s not so far fetched.  Gamespot.com is reporting that a new Batman game will try to mirror the gaming experience that Bioshock produced in last years VGA Game of the Year.  He’s the LD:

According to Game Informer, Batman: Arkham Asylum has a “dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock.” Cowritten by Paul Dini, producer of TV’s Batman: The Animated Series, the game begins when the Joker breaks out of jail and escapes to Arkham. There, he orchestrates a plan to kill Batman and wreak havoc on Gotham City with the help of unnamed accomplices.

If Bruce Wayne ends up killing little girls and draining their adam I’m go throw uppercuts in the air.  People hate rip off games and I’ve never undestood that.  GTA set the standard for sandbox games, but there have been plenty of good knockoffs since then.  Godfather and  Mercenaries come to mind.  Were those not fun because Grand Theft Auto came first?  That’s bullshit.  We just need the joker to lumber around with a drill for a hand and a huge diving suit and we got a winner on our hands here!

And the villian in the next Batman movie is…

Yahoo thinks they know.  We have all heard the Johnny Depp/Riddler rumour.  Phillip Seymor Hoffman as the penguin was another intriguing idea, but unless he is playing basketball against Ben Stiller, I don’t know if that idea would stack up.  Crispin Glover taking over as the Joker would work for me, but that proved false.  Nothing screams lunatic serial killer like George McFly.  Yahoo says an interesting twist with a lame character from the last movie is more likely:

Catwoman. She’s far-and-away the most popular baddie and there are already a slew of searches on possible cast members including Jessica Biel, Amy Adams, and, wait for it, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Do fans think Rachel Dawes, Bruce Wayne’s one-and-only, was really the Catwoman all along.

That’s a great twist but Gyllenhaal is a 5 and trying to play a 10.  She simply isn’t attractive enough to be believable in that role.  I’d rather do Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine or any other cast member from the Dark Knight.  Maggie Gyllenhaal should be baying at a treed raccon with her fellow bloodhounds, not making out with Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne.   I casted Hayden Panettiere in a little super hero movie I’m making.  It’s called “Chick’s Ass I Chop of My Pinkie to Eat.”  Title is a little wordy, but the foundation is sound.

Seems the Dark Knight really is wanted by the police…

Fox News has some strange news for all of us.  Allegedly, Christian Bale (John Conner, Bruce Wayne, Patrick Bateman) is having some family issues.  Poor timing by the looks of it, but I doubt that this will have any affect on box office totals:

LONDON —  “The Dark Knight” actor Christian Bale was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister, according to British media reports.

Earlier Tuesday, the Welsh-born actor was in custody at a central London police station being questioned by officers over the incident, said to have taken place in his hotel suite.

They may have been mouthing off so I will reserve comment till more information is produced.  I will say this.:  Bale is now the biggest star on the planet with two gigantic move franchises that he is the face of.  It is possible that this is all bullshit and we have two family members that dont think they are getting the slice they deserve for doing nothing.  So this is some crap set up.  Either way, it’s ironic that this should be the biggest moment of a great actors life and even Christian Bale can’t escape mellowdrama with his family.  We will see…

I am getting pretty fucking sick of the Dark Knight

I seem to be the only one though.  I saw the thing, it’s pretty good.  Way too long, but it’s a good flick.  The comparisons to “Heat” and “The Godfather and “The Departed” are preposterous, but it’s a decent movie. Everyone else on earth thinks this thing is Titanic, Spider Man 3 and Shrek 2 rolled into one. Superhero Hype has the box office numbers for the midnight screenings. They are impressive.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Dark Knight broke the record for a 12:01 a.m. film opening, earning an unprecedented $18,489,000 at the box office, it was announced today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. That total does not include the grosses from the subsequent 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. showings.

I went to see the thing at 3pm on Friday at it was bedlam.  I really had not seen that many people breathing out of their mouths at once since little league.  I wish Heath Ledger had not died.  I would have love to see if this type of thing would have taken place if he had survived.  Look, lets get a hold of ourselves.

This is a good movie, but it’s not even the best superhero movie I’ve seen.  X-men 2 is easily as good as this thing.  I would say the original Batman and Iron Man are the Dark Knight’s better.  Everyone needs to cross their legs.  Peel 45-55 minutes off this movie and we’ll start talking about whether or not it can be included in the conversation with Burton’s masterpiece.

Get out yer Wet Naps, it’s nerdgasm time.

Is this thing fucking real??  Does anyone know if this is going to be a toy or God forbid in the MOVIE???  My penis is flinching and ducking in anticipation of the flogging it’s going to recieve with more information on this breaking news. Am I the only hack that used to love it when GI Joe would team up with the Transformers in the comics?  I can answer my own question there.  Thanks to Billionaire Playboy Rob Stark for the picture.  The Fukerton runs on the blood of it’s readers…

DC comics to make more bad movies.

With X-Men, Spiderman and Iron Man as monster hits, Marvel has put it’s balls in the mouth of DC in the land of Cinema.  With Punisher, Wolverine and all kinds of Avengers related films already in the works, Marvel can pretend that flops like Daredevil and Elektra never happened.  So what’s wrong with DC?  I’m of a mind that their heros simply dont stack up well against Marvel’s.  Superman is too one dimensional, Wonder Woman is lame and Bats is the only swinging dick around that can make any cash.   Strangely, Marvel may inadvertently be responsible for getting more DC flims green lighted.  Read on true believers:

Warners Bros is in talks with DC Comics about a new direction for its film adaptations. The Hollywood Reporter and Variety say that the move follows on from the success of Marvel Studios’ characters on the big screen.

In a press release Warner Bros said: “While we are not going to go into the specifics of the meetings, we’re constantly looking at how best to exploit the DC Comics characters and properties.”  Speculation has already begun about which comics may be brought to the big screen, names mentioned include ‘The Green Lantern’ and ‘Night Wing’.

Great.  A Robin movie.  I love Batman.  If they made a Superman vs Doomsday flick, I’m all in.  The facts are DC can’t get out of it’s own way to make these movies.  An animated JLA movie?  They turned Superman into a goddamn romantic drama.  It’s almost laughable that Marvel is far ahead of the game.  You are telling me Nightwing is gonna turn this thing around? Surely you jest.
